AM Snooze
Baby taking a little nap this morning....Lucy woke up at 5:45...her paci has been "cut" since Sunday and she is doing pretty well. You cut the tip off the paci and they no longer want to suck on it--brilliant! Anyway, Judson continues to be a great baby. If I can just get through the spit up stage I would be most appreciative. The crazy thing is I am a milk machine giving him an overflow this time around and last time with Lucy I didn't have enough!

Happy 6 Weeks!
Judson is 6 weeks old today. Time has flown....he's eating great, still spitting up a fair amount but weighs about 10.2 or 10.4 lbs. Sleeping each night from 830 till 2 or 3, then usually up for the day about 630 or 7. He is also learning to take a long nap when Lucy does. Here's to hoping we can continue that!! We love you little man and thanks for putting up with your pest of a big sister!
Thanks Baba!

Budda, Take This Screaming Baby Away
Lucy has taken a liking to this wooden Budda that Jud got in Indonesia I think. She carries him around and talks to him, puts him in the baby swing and stroller. I imagine she is asking him to make her life back to the way it was when I actually had a minute to hang out with her and not just be the mom who puts Imgination Movers on again and offers her cookies.
Trick or Treat!
H'ween Parade/Lucy's B-day
We had a great time celebrating Lucy's 2nd birthday nd hitting the Del Ray parade. She loved it! At her 2 year checkup, she was hanging in the 5th % for weight at 22lb 4 oz!! 50% for height. She is doing great. She is starting to put several words together like "Lucy mommy's bed" when she wants to go lay in our bed and watch TV, etc. She is also learning about time out.....as a result usually of going after the baby, boinking him on the head or just doing something naughty. As soon as she is in time out, she starts saying "im sorry, im sorry." It is really so cute. She loves the baby and we are so blessed to have these 2 little fun munchkins.

Siblings
One of the images where Lucy is not trying to carry the baby or put him into his swing (yikes). So far Judson is the exact opposite of Lucy. He would nurse all day and all night if I'd allow it...it kind of feels like I am doing that now, especially the all night part! He can sleep about 3-4 hours at a time but most of those times seem to be during the day of course. I know it won't last forever! Off to Lucy's 2 year checkup, and then I can post her stats and pics from her birthday party last weekend.

Getting Acclimated
Lucy has done surprisingly well given the multitude of changes!! She finally escaped from her crib this week and we just put the toddler bed into her room and it was no issue whatsoever. In fact, this morning she slept until 7:30 which may be a new record. Judson has also been doing well since we came home from the hospital on Monday. He is a champion nurser--if he had his choice he would eat all day and all night long! He's been spitting up a bit however and we are hoping he grows out of that soon and learns when to say when :) We are going to attempt to put him into his crib tonight for the first time after 2 nights in our bed--don't want to get into that habit as an every night thing. First doc appointment went well today. He is gaining weight on target and is about 50%th percentiles on his stats.
Welcome Judson Thomas!
Judson Thomas Allen arrived on Oct. 10 at 1:06 pm! So, during the past week, we have packed our townhouse, moved out of it on Friday and into our new house, had the baby and Lucy has moved into her big girl bed! It has been nonstop to say the least. Thanks to everyone for your good wishes and apologies if we've not gotten back to you--we will--come by the new house whenever. I am not going anywhere for the rest of 2009!

Ready for Sibling
Lucy has become entranced with all the baby items I've dug out. She loves sitting in the Moses basket and infant car seat. I just hope she doesn't sit on the baby when he or she is in there!! You can also see her "boo-boo" covered legs. Lucy is fearless at all parks, places where she can swing, you name it. Just about every night she points out a new boo boo to me.

Beach
We had SO MUCH fun--10 adults and 6 kids. Can you imagine what feedin' time was like? We should have just put a plate of mac and cheese on the floor and had them go at it. It wasn't much different than that actually! All the kids played together nicely and the adults managed to do the same (when there is enough beer, Crown and tequila around who knows what to expect!). And the best news was that I did not go into labor in NC. Now we are home till this kid arrives...and hopefully that we move into the house first (which is looking like a good possibility at this point). Yay!

Fun at the Beach
So far we are having a great time in Nags Head! Lucy is not a huge fan of the beach. She stays in the sand for 10 minutes, then needs to check out the pool, then the hot tub, then it's time to get out of the swim diaper and see what everyone else is doing inside. Busy little one, per usual. One month till my due date too! OMG!!

Gearin' Up for the Big Girl Room
So I decided I was going to take on a craft project--painting an old dresser, putting on new knobs and painting a toddler bed for L's new room. Then Jud reminded me that I am not necessarily known for putting a lot of elbow grease into such projects. Not to mention inhaling paint fumes and Kilz at 8 months pregnant being a bad idea. So I quickly called our fix-it, painter and overall hero John and he did it for us. They are so cute now--goodbye ugly oak furniture! We are recycling both the toddler bed which came from a friend for free and the dresser which was actually Granny Judi's in her first room in CT. Score!! I can't wait to get in there and start putting some of these things in the house. PS--I got the knobs for $4 each at a site called Cool Knobs and Pulls.com. It's awesome!

Yay for Fall!
Lucy and I both are so happy cooler temps are here. We celebrated the first of September by spending 2 hours at the park, which was impossible for me a few weeks ago when it was over 90. She was so happy she could have played all day. She passed out in the car before she even had her lunch! She is quite fearless (notice her scaling the giant slide) and wants to jump down from several feet to the ground unassisted.
