I Hate Socks

And try to pull them off every chance I get.

Take Out, Put Back

We go through this exercise about 5 times per day, removing every Tupperware top and putting them back into the drawer. Is every child obsessed with taking items out of kitchen cabinets?

End of the Birthday Week

Uh oh, scary fire!

Making the yummy food.

Lucy's considering a career in cooking.

However, she dined on the ol' reliable mac and cheese peppered with zucchini and carrots.

On Saturday night, we decided to take Lucy to Boru, a Benihana-type Japanese steak house. Since Lucy is possibly the worst guest when eating out, I thought she would like the entertainment value. All was well until the chef had the oil flame up. Poor Lucy got a little freaked out at that point. See pic of her cuddling with daddy!

One Year!

After a busy past 2 weeks of party prep, cooking, cleanup, etc. for not only Lucy's party but a shower for another friend the following weekend, I'm back! We took Lucy for her one year checkup today and all is well. She's still in the 5th percentile for weight at an ounce under 18 lbs and 50th % for head circ. and height. So lean and mean is the name of the game for Lucy. She handled her shots well and is napping. Yay!

Why it's Fun to have a Girl

Ridiculous outfits like this. Thanks Joy!!

Svan-tastic

We love Lucy's new highchair! Thanks Gran and Pap Sheriff for her birthday gift. The best part is the no cushions for getting food stuck--nothing like the smell of weeks-old cheese festering under there!

Cox Farms

We had a fun, COLD, outing to the pumpkin farm with Lucy's little infant buddies. It will be better when they are all old enough to run through the corn maze and milk the cows.

Box Car

Lucy loves riding in her Cruisers cardboard box car. She likes to go fast. She has another new trick this week, saying AAHHH after taking a sip of her drink. She watched Jud do it after swigging his Blue Moon and she mimics it exactly. It is SO FUNNY!! Twirling and dancing are also popular tricks of hers this week.

Taking on the Hill

Party Time

Posted by Picasa
The party was so great. The BD girl had on the most adorable little black and white ball gown and loved to turn and twirl in the dress. Lucy was a bit frightened when everyone sang HB to her, as you can see the look of terror on her face. We had 2 yummy lasagnas, chocolate cake (thanks Pa Doug), vanilla and carrot cupcakes. Lucy was not interested in any cake whatsoever. She was fading fast when it came time for cake due to the noise of 30 people in our house! She got some lovely gifts like books, a stroller to push her baby in and a few more toys for the exploding toy box. Thanks so much to everyone for coming! Her real BD is on Friday so I'm sure another mini-party will be on the agenda.

Miss Independent

Lucy hates to ride in the shopping cart. Protests, turns around, slips through the leg holes, you name it. All she wants to do is push the cart herself. Here she is practicing with her Jogger. So picture me at Harris Teeter yesterday trying to buy stuff for her bday celebration, and she will ONLY be underneath my feet pushing from the bottom while I push from the top. It may look cute but it makes the grocery visit take twice as long! Also pictured, her new slippers. So cute!!

The Many Faces of Lucy

She learned how to stick out her tongue and now she LOVES to do it.....

New Chariot

We took her for a ride in the new bike trailer that Aunt Jen passed down to us. Thanks! She liked riding in it, but alas her helmet, while super cute with pink bunnies on it, was too big and she pulled it off within seconds. Jud kept it at a slow pace and she was strapped in super tight!

Trick or Treat Practice

Lucy has no trouble carrying her candy bin around. My stepdad works for Hershey, so OF COURSE she'll be having chocolate on the 31st!!

Inn at Perry Cabin

Dessert, homemade peanut butter cup with marshmallows and raspberry sauce!

Our balcony, me in hotel bathrobe (I love hotel bathrobes and slippers) and our room service breakfast tray in the foreground!

We had a great time! The weather was perfect, our room had a great view and we ate incredible food. Thanks to all of our babysitters while we were gone.

Skinny Buddha

Lucy loves to push this around the back room, turn it over and sit in it. Like a car or something. When Jud came upon her in the kitchen sitting on top of it like the Buddha in the photo above, we decided to put it out of her reach.....

Outing for Mom and Dad

Jud and I are heading to the Inn at Perry Cabin in St. Michael's, MD tonight! We are so excited for a night away from our little peanut. Granny Judi is here babysitting and will be teaching a cooking class today to my Moms club. Lucy has a new trick. Shaking her head, "NO!" Should I be surprised that this is her first real "word" given that it was Katie's too??!!

Fun at the Park

Lucy loves the park. She sees the swings from the car and starts making her excited whines! This leisure suit is too cute.

Future Dukie

She better start reading and studying now so she can get a full academic scholarship. When I think about college tuition it is terrifying!!

Cousins

Lucy got to meet her new cousin Sam over the weekend! He is about 8 weeks old. Nate is still towering over her! And yes, Lucy knows how to work the remote.....God help us

One of Lucy's favorite games....

Determination

Lucy has a new favorite book, one about the bubble pipe with things that pop up. It was my book when I was little. Near the end, there is a page with the little pop-up man who had already been torn out before by either me or Katie and taped back into place. Clearly, this little man is too tempting for any child to resist, Lucy included. Here are some action shots of her and the little man.

I'm a Kid Not a Baby!

She looks so much bigger here, she is really not a baby anymore! Good thing we got our walk in before the rain......

Back in Business

Here are some pics from the last week we've been gone! All is well in Lucy land. She is anxiously awaiting the arrival of the next to last baby in the bunch, baby Brugger.
