Double Trouble

"Zoe, don't move while I apply your blush. I like the Laura Mercier in Crushed Hazelnut on you."

"Zoe, now that I've backed you into the corner, I can pummel you with my plastic phone"

"I guess I'll share some Puffs with you even though I'd rather not"

I'm watching my neighbor Meg's daughter Zoe today b/c their day care was closed for the holiday weekend. Zoe is 3 months older and about 5 lbs bigger (shocking, I know!). Anyway, we've had a pretty good day, both little ones are napping now-yay! They don't pay much attention to each other, sort of like passing ships in the night. However, Lucy is much more wild and aggressive. Zoe plays quietly with a toy or book, and Lucy comes right over and bops her on the head and takes the toy. Oh boy....As Jud likes to say, it's not the size of the dog in the fight, its the size of the fight in the dog!

Steppin' Up

Lucy can climb the entire staircase now. Getting down is another story!

First Steps!

Lucy has taken a FEW steps on her own. Mostly they result in her falling down on her bum or hands. We are getting there!

Fort Lucy

Granny brought Lucy's first birthday present early, a giant playground we've put in the basement. Here's to no more sewage backups down there!!

Babyproofing

Lucy assists Jud in babyproofing the kitchen cabinet.

Uncle Bobby

You'd never guess that Lucy screamed inconsolably when Bob first arrived. Think.....the same reaction as when she sees Scary Uncle Gary. However, Lucy took to Bob very well and they became fast friends. Come visit again soon! PS. Could Lucy be ANY whiter??!!

Brutus

The look on Colton's face is priceless. I think Lucy just got finished slapping him on the forehead, her favorite activity. Luckily Laura swooped in to protect her son from his cousin Brutus!

Do Not Adjust Your Screen

Yes! That is Lucy pondering a broccoli floret. And bite marks on the carrot stick. I can't exactly say she ate it, but she did suck on the stalk for a few minutes. Baby steps!

2028 Olympics

Lucy training for the hurdles. In her bathrobe after the bath, hilarious. I absolutely love this age! She can't talk back to me yet, has actually started to eat people food and makes us laugh constantly. She "dances" to music now, flailing her arms like a ninny. I will get a video of it sometime soon.

Baby Samuel Ian!

Another baby was born while we were gone, Lucy's cousin Sam Ian who was born on the 12th. We are so excited he is here and Lucy can't wait to poke his little eyes like she does to Colton and Sulley! Congrats to Katie, Scott and big bro Nate!

Milwaukee Madness

We had a fun time for the past week in Milwaukee visiting the fam! We went to the zoo, had fun times in the (cooler) hot tub, went to the pool, tasted new foods (she loves spinach couscous!), visited the lot where the grandparents will be building their new house and learned Irish dancing from Riley. We look forward to seeing everyone again soon! While we were gone, Stacey and Grey welcomed baby Oliver Fitzgerald into the world! So as soon as we got off the plane today, we went to visit him!! Welcome baby!! Yay!

Sleeping Daddy

One of Lucy's new favorite games is to pounce on Jud when he's pretending to be sleeping. He then "wakes up" and grabs her, and she giggles and laughs like a hyena! It is so cute.

Mrs. Potato Head

When Lucy's eating her favorite food, mashed Yukon Golds with real Irish butter, she loves to laugh hysterically. With her mouth wide open and full of spuds. She does not do this with any other food! We'll be working on manners once she reaches age 1. 2nd pic, after being caught getting into something she's not supposed to, i.e. cords, nightlights, cell phones, remotes.

Fair Minded

Lucy and I visited the Arlington County Fair today while Jud played golf. She liked watching the kids on the rides! It will be more fun next year when she can ride them (if she's tall enough!). She had a few bites of funnel cake and loved it. I had a few bites myself then tossed that giant donut in the trash!!

Sweet Treat

Lucy liked the palmier, yummy! She had a fun day at the pool and helped neighbor Zoe celebrate her first birthday. She also likes anything Morningstar Farms, especially the spinach artichoke bites. When I say she likes them, I mean she eats about half of a nugget. Progress, slowly but surely. She eats a whole Eggo for breakfast and had 2 yogurts for dinner. Yay!

Lucy McAllen

Here is Lucy in her new Scottish tam. It matches her Christmas outfit (thanks Granny). Do you think she had fun in the baby pool?? If I didn't have to worry about exposing her to 10,000 skeeters with West Nile in our backyard, I might consider putting one back there!

Granny's

We're in Hershey and having a fun time. Lucy went in the baby pool and loved it. She also has some adorable new clothes to show off as her summer collection continues to grow. I hope some of you have girls bc we will have many hand me downs! Granny is also sending me away with BOXES of stuff as they clean out their house and prepare to move. I can't believe how many books and toys she saved. And if anyone is ready for a fancy dinner party, I now have all the crystal, china, etc. to host it. Sounds great with lots of infants at our feet!! I'm off to my massage!!

Puttin on Weight

We put Lucy on the scale this morning and it was over 16 lbs! She did have her clothes on, but in a week and a half I think we can safely say she's put on some ozs. That's what cream cheese, potatoes, full fat yogurt, pasta and butter will do to you! Doesn't she look a bit more round faced already?

Baby Shower

Here is a cute one of us at Kris' shower. More babies on the way soon!

Dinner with Infant

Yeah, so going out to dinner with Lucy now is more or less a nightmare and never lasts more than an hour. She wants to wrestle me as soon as we try and put her in the highchair. We went out with our friends the Heiligs and their 2 and a half year old on Sat. night and then to get fish tacos with the Pfarrs on Sunday. We love the baby/blue hair dinner hour at 6:30 pm--fun!! I told the Pfarrs to enjoy their last few weeks of freedom (she has 21 days to go!)

New Chair

Lucy loves her new car seat...hah! She really loves shoveling waffles with butter and syrup and organic ritz down (thanks Aunt Stacey). YUM! Eat Lucy, eat! Feeding her without a shirt on is the way to go :)
