House Status-June 30, 2009

Here's the house as of today! They are starting drywall now and who knows how much more will be done by the time we return.

Zoo Visit

Lucy went to to the zoo with buddies Charlie and Preston and enjoyed her time there. She kept saying "moo" the entire time as she wanted to see the cows, which were at the very end kids' petting zoo.

Settling In

We are getting acclimated to our new digs just in time to leave for Erie for 2 weeks! Here's Lucy showing what a hippo does, according to her Baby Einstein video.

New Home

We are getting used to our new surroundings here in Old Town and so far it's great! Although it took forever to get Comcast here and hook us back up to the Internet, we are finally connected. Lucy had a bit of confusion the first night here but since then she's been fine with the naps and bedtime. Her new thing is hating bathtime, I mean it's a knock down, drag out fight to get her to get into the bath and she screams the entire time. I hope she gets over this fear soon! We'll be welcoming Doug and Judi thurs and friday night (did anyone think it would be long before we had guests??) and off to Baltimore for a wedding Sat. night while Baba and G-dad watch Miss L. A night in a hotel alone! Glorious! More pics to come (once I locate the camera and half the other junk I can't find since the move :)

New Words, etc.

Lucy has been spouting off a whole bunch of new words in the past few weeks like hippo, house, home (when we're pulling in the driveway), ice cream, pool, Maya, Shrek and I'm sure there are others I'm missing. She repeats a lot of what we say, and one of the funniest things is a common pause phrase Jud and I obviously overuse, "Ummm, sooo," and then she launches into some gibberish followed by using her everpresent pointer finger to get exactly what she wants. Lucy continues to love being the center of attention and loves dancing. Another new item she loves to play with are makeup sponges, she imitates me at the mirror putting on makeup and always wants a bit of lipstick or gloss if she can get her hands on it.

G&L Housewarming Party

We had a fun time! Thanks for having us over! Only 5 days till the movers come so may not be any updates until we are in the new house...Lucy's off to Judi's again for camp on Wednesday:)

Not That Innocent

Lucy looks like quite the innocent cherub in this picture but she had just found a permanent marker we were using to label boxes and gave herself a small goatee and beauty mark. I scrubbed most of it off much to her dismay! We have been packing maniacs (how have we accumulated so much stuff in 6 years!??) getting ready for the movers on June 19th. Thanks to Granny Judi for taking Lucy off my hands for 3 days so I could get some more packing done without having to worry about Lucy pulling something down on herself, putting a screwdriver in the socket, etc.

Poker Face

Lucy loves the song. Poker Face by Lady Gaga. She literally dances in her car seat every time we play it. You can sort of get a sense of how she "dances" in her seat in this pic....it's like a turtle moving her head in and out of the shell. Hilarious!
