Lucy did great her checkup yesterday and powered through her last shot for a while (Hep A)! She weighed in at 20 lb 9 oz and was 33 inches long. Her head and height are in the 75th percentile which was a 50% jump from before! She is still hanging in the 5th percentile for her weight but overall her lines on the chart are looking consistent. At 18 months, Lucy is a sprite of energy most of the time. She almost always is happy, and if she's not happy, it usually doesn't last long and just means she needs a nap. She still is an early riser so tends to take a cat nap in the morning and then a long 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon. Her night time routine is pretty great too--she is usually snoring with her blankie and paci by 8 pm and we don't hear a peep from her until 6 or 6:30. She has 30+ words at this point, including mommy, daddy, pap, Riley, Ghilly, no, yes, various animal noises, apple, bottle, out, up, dog, eyes, Ollie, baby, Elmo and all the SS characters. Recently, she puts 2 words together like "Hi Daddy" or more often "no Mommy!" She surprised us at the appointment yesterday by pointing to Dr. Dahria's pregnant belly and saying "baby"! I guess she'll be ready when the time comes. She loves Sesame Street, she really has taken to Elmo. Her favorite book is "Pop Goes the Weasel" with Mr. Cecil. As far as eating, she is still quite picky, hates veggies and loves ice cream cones. Lucy, you are such an amazing addition to our lives and we love you.

Ready, Set, Go!
Drumstick Love
Lucy and Riley enjoying their Mini Drumsticks. I'm sure these are filled with HFCS and many other artificially delicious things, but a little treat every now and then is good for her! For those of you who saw ollie's video of his reaction when Stacey took the artichoke away, multiply that by 10 and that is what Lucy did when I tried to take hers away.

Fun in WI
Lucy and Ri enjoyed the one day of sun we had here at Possibility Playground. Lucy loves hanging out with her older cousin. She has not embraced CST and is waking up at 5 in the morning! On another note, she has been eating like a horse. Oranges, chicken nuggets, pasta, OJ, ice cream cones--all down the hatch. We return to Arlington on Weds pm.

Reston Petting Zoo
We had a fun Monday morning outing with the Heiligs to the Reston Zoo. It's great because there are many animals at the little ones' level, so they can see them up close and pet them if they want. Lucy perfected her "BAAA" when she saw the sheep and goats. Funny that she and the duck are about the same size. She loved chasing him!

Teeth Pain
I finally pried my way into Lucy's mouth today and discovered that she is getting 4 teeth (eye teeth, top and bottom) which has been causing whininess, multiple wakeups and unexplained sadness. I guess almost a year of sleeping through the night was bound to be broken sometime..I just forgot how much it stinks!

Easter Bunny, Not This Year
You expect me to do what with that giant bunny?
Lucy and I went to meet Granny Judi for a lunch date at the Frederick Mall (mid-point between the 2 of us) since she was feeling a bit better this morning. She was freaked as Judi tried to put her on the bunny's lap. This mall too does their best to mess up the pictures you take yourself so you can barely see what's happening, but rest assured, we quickly rescued her from the giant furry beast. Glad all the Mimosa Mommies got their pics this year 'cause it may be the last for a while!
The Fever
Lucy has had a fever off and on since Friday, it's awful! She has periods of being totally fine, then it's back again. The nights have been bad too. UGH! We hope this ends soon. Get better Lucy and get those pesky big teeth out (yeah that is not helping the situation!).
