New Words

"Peek" for peek-a-boo and "bye" have been added to the vocabulary. She sees people getting their coats/computers/keys and automatically starts saying bye, it's hilarious.

Tenzing Norgay

Like the sherpas who came before her summitting the highest points, Lucy likes to be up high whenever possible. She gets up onto the chair in seconds. Has sustained falls, but is undeterred in her quest to be taller. Must be an Allen trait!!

Hell Yeah I Can See

LASIK was a piece of cake! I am seeing 20/15 less than 24 hours post-op. It is awesome!! We took Lucy to see Santa today at the mall and she did pretty well. Will save the pics for our Christmas card I think. Have to get the turkey brined, etc. FUN!

Welcome Linus!

We are so happy another cousin has joined us! Linus Drennan was born on Friday night and everyone is doing great. We had Baba and Grandad here this weekend, Ollie's baptism and I worked at the Junior League of Washington's Capitol Collection on Sunday. Excited to get some rest and prepare for the exciting week of LASIK on Tuesday and Turkey Day Thursday. I am supposed to limit my time on the 'puter so don't expect a lot of posts this week. Happy T-giving everyone!!

"Hi"

Lucy's first word is "hi". She mostly says it when new people enter the room and gets stage fright so does not like to say it on cue or into the phone. She also knows when people are picking up their bags or putting their coats on it's time to wave bye bye, and she waves to everyone. She is just so cute I can't stand it. New thing is wanting to sit in the big people's chairs or couch all the time and having a fit when she is put back on to the floor.

Couch Climber

Lucy loves to climb on the couch now and of course has had one fall over the edge (so far). Thanks to Grandma Lauren for the cute new shirt! We had a fun weekend with Pap Sheriff and I don't know how I didn't get any pics of the two of them together. Next time!

More Teeth

Someone told me that you won't believe how different they look when the top teeth come in and holy moly she looks hilarious. Sorry for the out of focus; she was climbing on top of me as I tried to snap this one.

Lucy has tasted the crack that is a Kit Kat. She LOVES them and tries to wrestle it out of my hands. Someone please come and take away my Halloween candy!

Lucy is undecided if she likes Ollie or hates him. We babysit for a few hours on Friday night and all was well until a total toddler meltdown ensued when she was scolded for beating on the infant, who at almost three months, is about as big as she is. And the pics are in reverse order for some reason!!

We're up at Grammy's and are hanging out till Friday. Lucy and I are ready to embrace President Obama even though we're not so sure about all his policies. Here's to hoping the Republicans spend the next four years finding and grooming a candidate who's more articulate and in touch with reality! Onward!

Another New Trick

After our visit to Harris Teeter to get Lucy's beloved blueberries for breakfast, she showed me how she can turn on the T.V. Prances right over there, turns it on. I turn it off. She turns it back on. Lather, rinse, repeat. Toddlerhood is a hoot so far! Here is a funny pic from our morning party last Friday.

Halloween Fun!

We had a fun day. Had the kids over in the morning for a party, had a lunch at Jud's office and then a neighborhood parade and friends over in the evening. Everyone slept well last night! I will post more pics later!
