Lucy had a nice nap in her swing this morning. It's hard to tell but in the second photo she is sleeping with her arm straight up in the air. Very funny. The Williams family came to visit today and Laynie loved baby Lucy. Congrats to Susan, Josh and Laynie who are expecting baby #2 in June 2008!

Inchworm
Lucy likes to be on her belly and do what we call the inchworm. We also had an outing to Target today. She loves being in the cart, going over the bumps and looking at the lights. I seriously looked like a crazy person pushing her around the store for about an hour because the movement is soothing to her. Oh and I spent 100$ in exchange for entertaining her. I am sure there is a cheaper alternative, like walking around the neighborhood instead. I bought her the most adorable boots. Will take a photo of her in them soon and post.

Sunday Fun
Today we had a fun morning on the play mat and then went to brunch with the Lynches and Lucy met baby Jeff. He is almost double her size as you can see in the photo and Jud wanted to keep their carriers separated because we were concerned Jeff might try to eat Lucy's little arm :) Jeff is my boss Lee's baby and he was born one day before Lucy in the same hospital! We will not fault Tom for putting Jeff in the UNC hat either!! Lucy loved her new outfit from Aunt Jen as well. Also if you are wondering if I have totally lost my fashion sense after having a baby the answer is no, I have Jud's shoes on in the other photo because mine were not around at the time of the photo shoot.

Saturday Fun
Today Lucy went back to get weighed and came in at 7lbs 3.5 oz! Yeah! We then took her to Shoppers Food Warehouse where she seemed really like the lights and going over the big bumps in the cart. Aunt Stacey, Aunt Kris and Uncle Gray came by to visit this afternoon to watch football and hold Lucy and mom got a nap :)

Lucy is fattening up for Thanksgiving. She's gained a half pound - more than 10% of her body weight in last 4 days. She had some stats her dad would like, 50% height and 10% for weight.... DOH!
She has been going #2 , 1 time per day - nothing like 10 feedings culminating in 1 poop @ 5AM. I like carrying her around sandwiched on one of our couch pillows, a lucy platter - Ingrid doesnt think it's a great idea, but Lucy likes it too.

Formula=Happy Baby, Full Belly
Yesterday at the doctor's we found out that little Lucy is a little TOO little so we are supplementing her feedings with some formula, which is like heroin for Lucy! She does not care what brand of bottle, what nipple type, she just takes it down like a champion. She has more awake and happy times during the day now that her little belly is fuller. We are hoping to gain an ounce per day. Back to the doctor tomorrow for a check up on the weight.

By Any Means Necessary
Here is a picture of Jud on Sunday night suited up with Lucy in the Ergo carrier. She had been carrying on quite a bit that afternoon so we were trying everything! See swing photo. It was about 50 degrees but he is still in shorts. Lucy loves the Ergo carrier. Also pasted there is a photo of her after getting out of the Ergo.

Hello! My name is Lucy Katherine Allen and this is my blog! I am 10 days old today. Grandpa Jim and Grandma Lauren came to visit today and I love having more people to take care of me. Or maybe mom and dad love having people to take care of me so they can nap! I visited my second DC-area restaurant today, Bebbo, in Crystal City. Last night mom and dad took me to Luna in Shirlington. I slept like an angel both places :) Mom and dad let me scream myself to sleep last night and as a result I slept for 6 hours! Yeah!!
